Isa 20.1-6 is a prophecy about the destruction of Egypt by the Assyrians. Eschatologically, this may allude to a war between Europe with the False Messiah, and Gog and Magog/Russia for the first three years of the birth-pains. Russia will dominate until they feel comfortable enough to invade Israel on Rosh Ha Shanah at the beginning of the fourth year of the birth-pains. They will be destroyed ten days later on Yom Kippur. So we will look at the historical and the eschatological aspects of this chapter.
v 1…In the year that Tartan (a title for a chief Assyrian commander) came to Ashdod (to besiege it), when Sargon (who succeeded Shalmaneser) the king of Assyria sent him and he fought against Ashdod and captured it;
v 2…At the same time (when Ashdod was besieged) Yehovah spoke through Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go and loosen the sackcloth from your hips (as a sign of mourning for the ten tribes, the current afflictions among the Jews, etc), and take your shoes off your feet (as a sign of distress, affliction).” And he did so, going naked (without his upper garment, like Saul in 1 Sam 19.24 and David in 2 Sam 6.14) and barefoot.
v 3…And Yehovah said, “Even as my servant Isaiah has gone naked (without his upper garment) and barefoot three years as a sign (“owt” and is written with the aleph, vav, tav and symbolic) and token against Egypt and Cush (meaning in three years Egypt and Ethiopia will be subdued by the Assyrians. Eschatologically, this may allude to Tishri 11, year 6001 from creation, when the False Messiah signs a military treaty with Israel, to Tishri 10, year 6004, when Gog and Magog/Russia invades Israel and is defeated. There will be three years of fighting between Europe and the False Messiah and Gog and Magog/Russia, and Russia will be winning until they invade Israel. Cush may allude allude to Babylon and the survivors of the Russian attack on the USA who are living in Europe);
v 4…So the king of Assyria will lead away the captives of Egypt and the exiles of Cush (remember, Russia will be winning against Europe and the False Messiah. When the USA was destroyed within the first week of the day of the Lord, and after the Natzal, there will be Americans who survived because they were in Europe working, as tourists, or in the military, and they will come under Europe because where else would they go and they are “exiled” there?), young and old, naked and barefoot with buttocks uncovered to the shame of Egypt (to humble their pride).
v 5…Then they (the Jewish people in Judah who were looking to Egypt for help against the Assyrians, and eschatologically, this alludes to the Jews who were looking to Europe and the False Messiah for help according to their treaty in Dan 9.27) shall be dismayed (fearful, afraid) and ashamed (that they trusted a weak ally) because of Cush their hope (they were allied with Egypt; and alluding to the military left over from the USA) and Egypt (Europe) their boast (had an alliance with Egypt, and in the birth-pains will have an alliance with Europe and the False Messiah-Isa 36.6).
v 6…So the inhabitants of this coastland (Israel and Jerusalem along the Mediterranean coast) will say in that day, “Behold, such is our hope, where we fled for help (Hezekiah with Egypt, and Europe with the False Messiah) to be delivered from the king of Assyria (Gog and Magog/Russia), and we, how shall we (Judah) escape (seeing that Egypt and Cush are defeated; and prophetically, that Europe and the military remnants of the USA are defeated
